RosesPest and disease control in Roses
‘Throw away your ‘secateur’, buy a good spray pump’.
To grow good roses means to grow and maintain the leaves on the bushes. There are numerous pests and fungus diseases that either destroy the foliage or the blooms and even the roots. Immaculate roses requires regular spraying – at least once every fortnight. It is most important to have a good spray pump, which allows the task of spraying to be completed quickly and accurately.
One requires about 1 litre of spray (CP 1.5) solution for 10 rose bushes. This means, that for a hundred rose bushes, the minimum should be a spray pump with an 8 or 10 litre tank. For more roses it is advisable to obtain a 15 to 20 litre knapsack spray (CP 15 OR CP 20)or even a motorized sprayer ( Maruyama or Tornado).
Start spraying by first signs of new foliage in the winter rainfall region and about mid September in the summer rainfall regions.
