Cutworms

Cutworms are soft bodied caterpillars that curl up when touched. They are larvae of night-flying moths.They hide in the soil and come out to feed on young tender stem, leaves and buds. They are particularly destructive during the early stage of the plant. The plantlets appear trimmed off close to the soil. To control cutworms, the following can be applied to the planting holes :
