SquashBarbara Barbara is a very exciting new Cucurbita moschata type butternut with several unique characteristics. Plants are vigorous, have an excellent general disease resistance and are widely adapted. Foliage is medium in density with almost no spines. Yield potential is very high, around 35% above standard open pollinated strains. Fruit set is excellent and over a long bearing season. The first fruits are harvestable as baby squashes at 45 days after transplant. Barbara is generally used for mature fruit production due to exceptional quality and can be harvested around 85 days from transplant. Mature fruit weigh around 1000 - 1500 grammes.
